my model...

Here is one of my projects where we was set the task of making the a 1:5 scale model of an iconic chair, this project corresponding with my previous post, my CAD technical drawings. I chose to model the Le Corbusier LC2 Chair, I made it out of jelutong wood which was a wood that was new for me to work with. After shaping to the correct size, routing out indentations for the frame, sanding down the pieces and finishing with primer and paint. The frame was made out of plastic tube and bent into shape around the wood sections via a strip heater. I really enjoyed this project as it was the first project of my first year at uni where we could work with resistant materials and enhance our practical skills.

routered out sections for the plastic frame to be fixed into.

I added fuse wire around the sections of my wood to create the effect of the cushion piping.
